Tribulus Terrestris Extract
Tribulus Terrestris Extract (puncture vine) is a standardised botanical extract with a saponin content of min. 90% (UV method). It is a fine brown powder and a raw material for dietary supplement manufacturing, particularly in the sports nutrition category.
Technical aspects
The extract is obtained from the aerial parts of Tribulus terrestris and standardised to saponin content determined spectrophotometrically (UV). The powder is fine, passes 100% through an 80 mesh sieve, has a bulk density of 0.5-0.6 g/ml, a characteristic taste and smell and a brown colour. Loss on drying does not exceed 5%.
Microbiological and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon limits (benzo(a)pyrene max 10 ppb, PAH-4 max 50 ppb) are in line with the requirements for food supplements in Regulation (EU) 2023/915. The product keeps its properties for 2 years when properly stored.
