Carob Powder BIO
Foodcom S.A. expands its offer with Karob BIO – organic plant powder obtained from the pods of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua). The product is characterized by its reddish-brown color, fine, uniform texture, and mildly sweet taste and aroma similar to cocoa, which makes it a popular plant-based alternative to cocoa in many food applications. Carob is distinguished by its high dietary fiber content and low fat content, while at the same time containing no caffeine or theobromine.
There are two variants of the product available – 20 and 45 – which differ in color, taste, and fiber content.
Technical aspects
Locust bean gum is a finely ground powder, available in shades ranging from light brown to dark brown. It has a chocolate-coffee flavor and an aroma reminiscent of milk chocolate.
It is an organic product, free from GMOs and allergens, making it ideal for manufacturers of functional and organic foods and clean label products.
Foodcom S.A. offers two variants of organic carob:
- carob 20 – lighter color, sweeter taste, and higher solubility,
- carob 45 – balanced flavor profile and color.

Storage period
Organic carob should be stored in a dry and cool place, away from direct sunlight. The product should be stored in its original, tightly sealed packaging to preserve its quality and sensory properties.
Packaging
The product is available in 25 kg bags, intended for contact with food, suitable for storage and transport in industrial conditions.
