This is our summary of the week 24 on the European dairy market divided into 4 main categories.

Cheese

Gouda, Edam as well as Mozzarella and Cagliata are very solid right now and the new offers come at higher price levels. The producers have already sold most of their volumes for July.

Butter

The butter deal for one of the biggest German Discounters has been closed by the end of last week. The price level should be around about 3,40 Euro/kg. The new price was agreed for July 2020. As a result, we could see increased activities in butter blocks.

Liquids

Europe has already passed the raw milk peak collection. Nevertheless, the rainy weather keeps the quantities elevated. Prices are rather stable. There is an increased intake of cream thanks to the tropical weather.

Powders

Powders are rather stable, although there was a little slowdown in terms of SMP. The availability is quite high. On the other hand, the amount of SMP in private storage is rather low with 13.202 tonnes. When it comes to WMP – there were some lower offers, but not many were concluded with deals. Lactose prices are generally steady, but the bottom moved higher. Additionally, the Euro-Dollar exchange rate is not helping in exporting.
